If you’re not familiar with the Solway Firth, it’s the stretch of water on the far north west of England that forms part of the border with Scotland. Those of a certain vintage may recognise the scenery below from the original 1973 version of The Wicker Man, which was filmed nearby.
It’s also home to Cumbrian vehicle accident repair specialists Maryport Bodyworks Ltd, which is enjoying the kind of success that Britt Ekland would have been proud of, had she gone into business and not the arts.
Owner John Walker is rightly proud of Maryport’s growth, telling us: “We’re going from strength to strength, with recent investment complementing our core operations. We’ve expanded our Used Car Sales and recently opened a purpose built MOT Centre.”
And at Whittle Hall Finance we’re delighted to have recently been chosen as the business’s preferred credit broker for its Used Car Sales.

John said: “Having Whittle Hall Finance on board as our credit broker ensures that our customers receive the high levels of service and quality of finance that they expect from the rest of our business.”
Treating customers fairly is not only a regulatory requirement but the centre of WHF’s values.
Whittle Hall Finance also worked closely with John to secure the finance to enable the build and fit out of the new MOT Centre. John said: “David engineered the finance package that allowed us to secure this significant investment in the business. Having his knowledge and expertise on hand proved invaluable.
“We place our trust and confidence in Whittle Hall Finance to provide both excellent service and competitive rates for ourselves and our customers alike.”
