FAQs: Covid-19

Am I still able to order a new car?

Yes, fortunately at Whittle Hall Finance we are still able to keep it business as usual. All our current offers are still available on our site, if you already have a car in mind then we will be sure to get you the best deal possible.

Will my new car be delayed?

Because of the virus it’s no surprise that there have been widespread factory closures. Volkswagen released a statement outlining that all its plants based in Europe are preparing for closure to prevent the spread of coronavirus and due to the difficulties, they are having supplying outsourced parts. Other manufacturers that have announced similar plans include: Fiat Chrysler, Groupe PSA (including Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall), Ford, Renault, Ferrari, Toyota, Nissan, Volvo, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

What does this mean? The closures will increase the waiting times on factory orders. So, any recently ordered cars that are factory built, it is likely that your delivery will be delayed until isolation measures are lifted.

Are cars available to purchase?

Cars that are in stock will still be available, however currently all dealerships have closed. When they are back up and running again, we will then be able to confirm all car models and specifications.

My lease is due to end soon, what can I do?

Yes, the majority of finance companies are allowing you to end your lease agreement on its contract end date, under the current circumstances your vehicle will not be collected by any collection agencies. Although the vehicle will still be in your possession you will be advised not to use it after your agreed termination date, you will be contacted by the finance company/agent to arrange a collection once isolation measures are lifted and it is safe for drivers to pick the vehicle up.

Depending on which finance company you are contracted with they may offer you the option to formally extend your lease, this means you can further your contract end date by either 6 or 12 months. Another option would be to informally extend your agreement, which runs from month to month until you can confirm a collection date.

What if I’m unable to make my lease payments?

At Whittle Hall Finance we pride ourselves on excellent customer service, so if you are experiencing any financial difficulty because of coronavirus, or any other reason and you are unable to make your payments please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will help you in any way we can.
